Interview with Gabriel

Taken from the Seeing Night Reviews blog during the Immortal Surrender Blog Tour.

Name: Gabriel
Profession: Archangel (Archaeologist in Immortal Surrender)
Age: Timeless
Height: unknown
Weight: unknown

So Gabe, real quick, for those who may not be in the know, could you tell us what your purpose with the Knights Templar is?

Gabriel: I am the Almighty’s Messenger, so my purpose isn’t so much for the knights as it is to insure what is supposed to happen does indeed happen. Frankly, my work is more among the mortal realm than the knights.

Lately you’ve been finding seraphs right?

Gabriel: Yes, I’ve been tracking down the seraphs as they are revealed to me and orchestrating the pairing so the Templar prophecy may be fulfilled.

That didn’t go so well with Bianca, did it?

Gabriel: Bianca… such a shame. I am afraid she quite took me by surprise. I was in Arizona, arranging something there, when I received word of another. I sent her mate. Alas, it wasn’t soon enough.

But you did good work with Noelle, although that required a little bit of craftiness. Tell me, was it incredibly difficult to plan out?

Gabriel: Noelle is a challenging individual, and I knew from the beginning, when I learned who she belonged to, it wouldn’t be an easy journey for either her or Farran. I felt it would work better if they knew nothing and had to figure it out as they went along. There’d be battles of will and hearts, yes. But those would be equally exciting for them as the new discoveries as well.

Are you happy with the way things worked?

Gabriel: Most certainly! Though I feared it might not, at one point. There were a few instances where I was convinced one might kill the other. Or that Mikhail would have to threaten them both at swordpoint.

What’s the most difficult thing about your job?

Gabriel: It’s all duty for me, most of the time. But because I am more in touch with mankind, I’m not as removed from their personal battles. I confess, it pains me on some days to have to walk away from a knight who I know will fail. To not be able to present his seraph immediately and know that he will likely die before I can.

I know you’re in a rush, but real quick, can you give us any insight on who we’ll meet next?

Gabriel: (his smile becomes knowing, in a superior-kind of way) I’ll say only, “She who digs in dust.”

Gee, thanks, Gabriel, that’s so informative. But I guess you archangels have your moments. I think I’m glad I’m not one of you. Thanks for sparing some time!

Gabriel: Safe wishes to you as well.
